All these childish colorful backgrounds and logo’s for autism, with puzzle pieces, letter blocks and paper cutout kids.
I hate it…
As if everything about autism is only about kids and nothing else.
As if they suddenly grow out of it as they grow older …or never grow up and remain children all their lives.

Now, don’t get me wrong on this. I do appreciate the support and awareness that exists for parents and children with autism, it is truly a good thing.
However, it’s important to remember that autism affects adults as well, and the struggles extend beyond just parents and kids. And for a website about living with autism as an adult, I’ve found that most existing symbols and backgrounds related to autism do not suit the target.
Moreover, it’s disheartening to realize that there is very limited support for autistic adults. It often feels like our needs are overlooked unless they directly impact others. It’s as though once you reach adulthood, your struggles with autism have no importance anymore. This lack of understanding can make it difficult to find the resources and help that we need.

Extra note:
At the time of writing, I changed the name of my site from ‘DivAuti‘ into ‘AutiFusion‘.
While ‘DivAuti’ was a combination of ‘Diversity’ and ‘Autism’, but some people mentioned that it sounded too much like ‘Divvy’.
‘DIVVY’ is a ‘silly or stupid person’ in British slang, so I could not keep a name that could seem like an insult towards autism.
— At that time, this site was still a free(and very limited) wordpress.com hosted website.
Since I turned it into payed site at hostinger, I needed to register a real domainname, and thought a lot about a new name.
It is now Auti-Soul-Share.
At first I thought of Auti-Soul-Expression, but I wanted it to be shorter and Auti-Soul-Express would have a completely different meaning.
